Plain terms for buying books from Silver Mountain Press. Use of this site constitutes acceptance of these terms, our privacy notice, and the terms of the services we use to take payment and ship your order.

Orders and prices
Prices are in US dollars and are shown before shipping and tax. Your order is accepted when your payment is completed and we have recorded it. We may refuse or cancel an order, for example if a book is not available or a price was shown in error, and if we do we will refund anything you paid.
Payment
Payment is taken by our payment processor, under its own terms and privacy notice. We never see your card or account numbers.
Shipping, tax and returns
- Where: we ship to addresses in the United States only, for now.
- Cost: shipping is a flat charge for small orders, shown before you pay. Larger orders need a shipping quote first: contact us before you order.
- Tax: Michigan sales tax is added to books shipped to Michigan addresses.
- Delivery: we ship through the United States Postal Service and other carriers through our shipping provider. Delivery times are estimates, not promises. We will tell you if there is a delay.
- Problems: if your book arrives damaged, or is not what you ordered, write to us within 30 days with your order reference and we will replace it or refund you.
- Returns: books in new condition can be returned within 30 days of delivery for a refund of the book price. Write to us first for the address. You pay the return postage unless the problem was ours.
Audio samples
The audio samples that come with some orders are for your own listening. Please do not copy, share or republish them. The private link may stop working after about 30 days or if it is shared widely.
The books and this site
The stories, illustrations and recordings belong to their author, illustrators and the press and are protected by copyright. Buying a book gives you the book, not the right to copy it.
The services we use
We use outside services to take payment, ship your order and run this site. By ordering you also accept the terms of those services as they apply to you. We may change which services we use, and those changes are covered by these terms.
Limits
We work to keep the shop accurate and available, but we provide it as it is. To the extent the law allows, our responsibility for any order is limited to the amount you paid for it.
Changes and law
We may change these terms by updating this page. The date at the top says when it last changed. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan.
